Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday November 17, 1964 The Palladium - Oswego, New York - Mexico - Percy L. Orvis, 82, husband of Ruth Wardwell Orvis, died this morning in Oswego Hospital where he had been a patient for seven weeks. Born in Boylston on February 4, 1882, son of the late Byron and Evelyn Skinner Orvis, Mr. Orvis spent his early life there, moving to this area 26 years ago. He was a retired farmer. Surviving with his wife are a step-son, Clarence Hollis of Pulaski; four step-daughters, Mrs. Raymond L. Fleming of Adams, Mrs. Claude Gates of Mexico, Miss Marion Hollis of North Syracuse and Mrs. Frederick Soule of Montgomery. Private funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Gibbs funeral home here with the Rev. Lullus Bell, pastor of the Mexico Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Willis cemetery, Town of Richland. The bearers will be Francis Martin, Robert Brown, Horace Hoyt, Carl Brown, Leo Guyette and Raymond Gibbs.
