Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 16, 1951 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Rites Friday For Ellis C. Church, 71 - Ellis C. Church, 71, died very suddenly at his home in Fernwood early Tuesday morning. He had been in poor health for some time but had been at work as usual the day before. Services will be held from the family home in Fernwood, Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Butler, pastor of the Adams Methodist church officiating_ Burial will be made in Willis cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Pearl Church; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Hunter; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Carter of Parish and Mrs. Dewitt Manwaring of Marathon; two grandsons, Thomas A. and Robert L. Hunter, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Church was born in Parish, June 6, 1880, a son of Charles H. and Rose Shattuck Church. He had spent most of his life in and around Fernwood. He was married to Miss Pearl Sprague at Fernwood, August 6, 1909, by the Rev. Perry O. Wilcox. He had been a farmer most of his life but was employed by the county highway department at the time of his death. He was a member of the Fernwood Methodist church and an active member of South Richland Grange and a trustee of Willis cemetery.
