Newspaper Obituary - Friday, January 3, 1997 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Esther A. Clinton, Fernwood Native ¬Esther A. Clinton, 89, formerly of 521 South Hamilton Street, died Thursday at Samaritan-Keep Home, where she had resided since January 1991. Born November 24, 1907, in Fernwood, daughter of Nye and Jane Attwood, she attended local schools. During World War II, she was employed by F.W. Woolworth Co., Syracuse, and New York Air Brake Co. She married Karl Clinton in August 1935 in Syracuse. Mr. Clinton, a retired Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. supervisor, died December 8, 1993, in Watertown. Mrs. Clinton was a former communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was active with the Girl Scouts on local and county levels. Surviving are two sons, Peter M., Media, Pa., and Nye A., Brewster; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. A sister, Olive Attwood, died before her. The funeral will be held at the family's convenience. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.
