William & Eleanor had 8 children: William S., Eleanor, Smith, Samuel, John Allen, Gardiner, Jane Ann & Rachel.
William was a private in Col Samuel Campbell's First Regiment of Tryon Co. NY Militia. To belong to the Militia, you were required to have a gun with either a sword, bayonet, or tomahawk, plus 1 pound of gunpowder and 3 pounds of bullets. They trained for 4 hours a month on the first of the each month.
William passed away in 1817 and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek, NY.
