- Newspaper Obituary- Wednesday, December 20, 1905 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Fernwood - Mrs. Eliza Conant West died at her late home on the 12th after but a short illness from a shock. All her life up to the past year Mrs. West's home has been just over the line between Mexico and Richland. She was a member of the M. E. church at Fernwood for many years and has many friends who sympathize with those near and dear to her, who mourn her loss. In a character which truly tested her Christian life, she cared for her aged father and mother and her husbands father and bore with all the peculiarities which so often come to people in advanced age and helplessness. Lovingly and tenderly all their wants and wishes were attended to without murmur or complaint. Only a few years ago she laid at rest her companion, for whom she constantly mourned and her earnest wish has ever been, "Nearer still nearer close to thy heart, Draw me my Savior so precious thou art. Fold me, oh fold me close to thy breast, Shelter me close in thy haven of rest." One sister, Mrs. A. Learned, of Sandy Pond, one brother, Mr. Conant, of Oswego, a dearly loved son and wife and two little grandsons are left to mourn for her. Services were conducted by Rev. Sill, of Mexico, December 13, burial at Mexico. Friends from Rome and Syracuse were present.
