Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 26, 1917 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Fernwood - Died at his home, Friday September 19, Mr. John McClellan who was born at Split Rock but has lived in Fernwood and vicinity all his life. 41 years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Almira Hofley, of Rensselaer Falls. He has been in feeble health for two years but he will be remembered as an active farmer and also at one time to have owned and operated the flour and feed mill which burned, where now stands the mill owned by F. L. Spicer. He was of a family of twelve children of which only three are left, Mrs. Qaintell, of Fernwood; Mrs. Knapp, of Chaumont and Mrs Bushnell of Syracuse. He is also survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. B. D. Shear of Lacona. The funeral services were held from his late home Monday afternoon, September 22, Rev. J. P. Greene officiating. Interment was made in Willis cemetery. Besides the Fernwood friends, friends were present from Chaumont, Watertown, Renssalaer Falls, Syracuse, Pulaski, Honeyville, Camden and Lacona.
