    • Newspaper Obituary - Friday, December 9, 1927 Watertown Daily Standard - Watertown, New York - Frank Gayne Dies At Black River - (Special to The Standard) - Carthage, Dec. 9. - Frank Gayne, 72, died at 1 o'clock this morning at his home in Black River where he had lived for three years. The funeral service will be held in the Black River Baptist church at 2 Sunday with burial in Fairview cemetery, here. Rev. Mr. Vickery will officiate. Mr. Gayne was born May 10, 1855 on Howe Island, Canada, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Gayne and had lived near Carthage and Black River most of his life, coming here from Clayton. Besides his wife, Angeline, he is survived by two sons, Justus of Sterlingville and Floyd of Black River; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas B. Cummings of Syracuse and Mrs. Ralph Bee of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Mrs. Napoleon Beaumont of Cleveland, Ohio.
