Newspaper Obituary - Monday, October 23, 1916 The Oswego Daily Palladium - Oswego, New York - Sewell E. Gates Dead ¬Fernwood, October 23 - Sewell E. Gates died at his home on Saturday of pneumonia, having been ill less than a week. He was born sixty-six years ago on the farm where he died, and had been a lifelong resident of the town. He had served as a school trustee and for seventeen years preceding his death was town constable. Mr. Gates never married and is survived by a brother, two sisters, a half-brother and a half-sister. The funeral will be held at the home at one p.m. Tuesday. Burial in the Willis cemetery, South Richland.
