Howard Ezra Hubbard

Howard Ezra Hubbard, age 91, resident of Pulaski, passed away Thursday at St. Luke's Nursing Home in Oswego. He was born November 4, 1922 in Point Vivian, the son of Claude and Ula Snow Hubbard. He was the middle child of five siblings, and his parents operated several farms in the area until 1931, when they moved the family to a farm in Fernwood. Howard graduated from Pulaski Academy in 1939. He married Martha Elizabeth Davis on August 11, 1945. He was employed by Oswego County Department of Public Works for 40 years, retiring in 1988. After his retirement, he and Martha divided their time between Sebring, FL and Pulaski. In 2004, they settled permanently in Pulaski. He was a member of the Park United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Davis Hubbard; two sons, David W. (Terry) Hubbard and Kenneth A. (Carol ) Hubbard, both of Pulaski; three daughters, Joanne Hubbard Cossa and Kathy A. Hubbard of New York City, and Barbara E. Hubbard of Pulaski; and one brother, Harold K. (Marjorie) Hubbard of Pulaski; six grandchildren, Fletcher C. Cossa, Kenneth A. Hubbard Jr., Claude W. Hubbard (Lyndall Houppert), Caitlin (Mark) Karver, Ashley Hubbard (Adam Mance) and Colin Hubbard; two great-grandsons, Ethan Facey and Tyler Karver; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by one son, Robert E. Hubbard who passed away in 2006.
A Memorial Service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, February 16, at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with a spring burial in South Richland Cemetery in Fernwood. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the funeral.
