Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 30, 1938 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. George Barnard Dies At Office Of Doctor - Mrs. Effa A. Barnard, wife of George Barnard of Salina street, died suddenly at the office of her physician, Dr. John H. L. Mason after an attack of coronary thrombosis. Mrs. Barnard was born in Fernwood June 17, 1871, a daughter of Rozelle and Anna Andrews Berry. As a young woman she taught school for awhile before her marriage to Mr. Barnard in 1894. Most of her life was passed in Fernwood until recently when the family moved to this village and occupied an apartment in the home of Mrs. E. F. Kennon, Salina street. She was a member of Fernwood Baptist church and the Ladies Aid of that church. She was also a member of South Richland Grange, Pomona and State Granges. Surviving besides her husb and are a daughter, Miss Annie Laura Barnard and a son, Paul Barnard all of this village; a sister, Mrs. Maynard Stone of Cortland, and a brother, Floyd Berry of Brooklyn. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 at Fernwood Methodist church with the Rev. George M. Butler officiating. Burial will be in Willis cemetery.
