Newspaper Obituary - December 2, 1965 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Mexico - Alvin N. Hellinger, 65, a dairy farmer, died Friday, November 26, at his home in the Pulaski Road, Town of Richland. He suffered a heart attack while cutting wood. Mr. Mellinger was born in Kirchnerville and was a dairy farmer. He had resided here for 35 years and was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Hazel Snyder Mellinger, are two sons, Raymond of Mexico and Harold Hallinger of Oswego; three daughters, the Misses Martha Hellinger, Pulaski, and Janet and Doris Hellinger, Mexico; four brothers, John and Gerald, Lowville, Eugene Hellinger of Castorland and Clarence Mellinger of Carthage; a sister, Mrs. Mary Campany, Lowville and six grandchildren. Services were held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Gibbs Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church. Burial was in South Richland Cemetery.
