Newspaper Obituary - Monday, April 28, 1969 The Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Mexico - Charles E. Mowry, 75, of Wayne Street, died Saturday at Harr-Wood nursing home, Oswego, after two months illness. He was born September 26, 1893 in the Town of Mexico, son of Oliver and Ella Calkins Mowry, and operated a dairy farm for many years. He later worked as a custodian at Mexico Academy and Central School 15 years before his retirement in 1960. He was a member of Mexico United Methodist Church and of Mexico Grange 218. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rena Halsey Mowry of Mexico; four sons, Donald of Waco, Texas, Kenneth, Richard and William Mowry; two daughters, Mrs. John (Ella) flamer of Mexico and Mrs. James (Helen) Harris of Clayville, 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, the Misses Ethelyn and Bessie Mowry of Selkirk Shores. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Miner Funeral Home. The Rev. Burten Croop, officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery. Friends may call 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
