      DeWitt J. Mattison, 75, of 47 Hong Kong Road, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse.
      Mr. Mattison was a mechanic for Syracuse Auto Parts, retiring in 1976.
      Born Nov. 29, 1921, in Altmar, son of Jerry and Helen Whitney Mattison, he was an Army veteran of World War II.
      His wife, Gail, died in 1996.
      He was a member of Trach-Auringer Veterans of Foreign Wars, Constantia.
      Surviving are three sons, David, Randy and Lenny, all of Parish; a daughter, Carol Mattison, Parish; a brother, Burton, Youngstown; a sister, Fay Parrish, Baldwinsville; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
      The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Wiltse officiating. Burial will be in Carley Mills Cemetery.
