Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, June 18, 1932 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Fernwood, June 8 - Mrs. Esther A. Groff, widow of Joseph B. Groff, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. M. Geer of Fernwood, Tuesday afternoon after an illness of a year. Mrs. Groff was born December 20, 1851, in the town of Richland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Ball. She was a lifelong resident of this community and for 12 years had made her home with her daughter after the death of Mr. Groff, a contractor and builder. Mrs. Groff was a member of the Fernwood Baptist church. Before coming here she lived many years in Mexico. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Lulu Robbins and Mrs. Geer of Fernwood and Mrs. Rose Guile and Mrs. Gertrude Mullen of Oswego. Private funeral services will be conducted at the Geer home at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with Mr. Leitka, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be in Willis cemetery.
