Kenneth VanBrocklin, 79, of 7560 Rome Road, died Friday at the home of his son, Barry, Ellisburg Road, Sandy Creek.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery.
Calling hours will be noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Redfield Fire Department.
Surviving besides his son are his wife, Sylvia "Sib"; another son, Ben, Watertown; a stepdaughter, Joan Noble, Redfield; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Born April 2, 1914, in the town of Worth, a son of Jared and Nina Bellinger VanBrocklin, he attended Adams schools and married Sylvia Rowell in August 1963.
Mr. VanBrocklin worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 545 of Syracuse for the past 50 years. He had been employed by various construction companies in the Central New York area for many years, retiring in 1979.
He was a former member of Redfield Fire Department and the Redfield Fish and Game Club. He was also a member of the Stavemill Hunting Club of Redfield.
Mr. VanBrocklin had lived in the Pulaski and Redfield area for the past 50 years.
