Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, February 18, 1959 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Miss Catherine E. Jackson, 69, a retired school teacher, died Tuesday evening in the Evergreen nursing home after a long illness. Born in Redfield, daughter of the late Marion and Jenny Guthrie Jackson, she was graduated from the Pulaski Training Class and Oswego State Normal school. Miss Jackson taught for a short time in a nearby rural area and then in Port Chester for 29 years prior to her retirement in 1951. Surviving are one sister-in-law, Mrs. William Jackson of Mexico; four nephews, William of Mexico, George of Gainsville, Florida, Leon of Fernwood and Harold Jackson of New Brunswick, New Jersey. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, at 2 p.m. at the Fernwood Baptist church with the Rev. Edward Vander Hay, pastor of the Pulaski Methodist church, officiating. The body will be placed in the vault at Willis cemetery for burial in the spring. Friends may call at the Foster funeral home on Thursday between the hours of 7-9 p.m.
