Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, May 22, 1948 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Death came suddenly to William Thomas Jackson, 56, at his farm home in Fernwood about 6 p.m. Friday. He had suffered a serious heart attack in February but had been making a splendid recovery. He had spent Friday afternoon in Pulaski on business, returning home for supper. Finishing his supper, he rose and walked out of the back door, where he suddenly collapsed and death came almost instantly. Mr. Jackson, a life long farmer, had been prominent in Grange and Masonic circles, and had long been an officer of the Patrons of Industry, mutual insurance organization. He was a past master of Pulaski Ledge No. 415, FAA.M., and past high priest of Pulaski Chapter, No. 279, Royal Arch Masons. He was past master of South Richland Grange, past master of Oswego County Pomona Grange and past county deputy master of the grange. He was a member of the Fernwood Baptist church. He was born in Redfield June 12, 1891, but had spent most of his life as a farmer in the vicinity of Fernwood. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. May Reynolds Jackson, four sons, William T. Jackson, Jr., Mexico; George E. Jackson, Gainesville, Florida; Leon Jackson, Fernwood, and Harold A. Jackson, Utica; a sister, Catherine Jackson, Portchester, New York, and four grandchildren. Prayer service will be conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from the family home, and funeral services held in Fernwood Baptist church at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. James N. Pauley of Pulaski officiating. There will be Masonic committal services at the grave in Willis cemetery.
