Newspaper Obituary - Sunday, July 28, 1901 Utica Sunday Journal - Utica, New York - Eckel - Mrs. Gertrude Eckel, widow of Jacob Eckel, who died July 22, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Brown, No. 345 Seymour avenue, was born in Germany, 72 years ago. Shortly after her marriage to Mr. Eckel they came to this country. They lived for a long time in Pulaski, New York, where the husband died about 11 years ago. Mrs. Eckel had resided in Utica about nine years. She was a member of Calvary church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Brown and Miss Lea Eckel of Utica, and Mrs. Mary Jellinghaus of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and two sisters, who live in Germany.
