Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 7, 1976 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Charles Emery of Pulaski succumbs - Charles A. Emery, 60, of 7653 Jefferson Street, Pulaski died April 3, at home after an illness of three months. He was born in Colosse on March 26, 1916, to Edward and Laura Sherman Emery and attended school there. In January 1941, he entered the United States Army and served in the European Theater of Operations in England and France in the Mobile Field Interrogation Unit until May 1945. He married at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey in September 1942 to Ruth Mae Stock and lived in Pulaski ever since his discharge in 1945, working in construction as a carpenter. He was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church and a member of the Mexico Edick-Hamlin V.F.W. Post No. 369. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union Local No. 747 in Oswego. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Mae; one daughter, Mrs. John (Margaret) Graham, Rochester; one son, Edward, also of Rochester; two grandchildren; three brothers, Don, Syracuse, Edward W., Nedrow, Francis, Mexico; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Stewart and Mrs. Irene Johnson, both of Pulaski and Mrs. Betty Potter, Dover Plains, New York and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. April 6th at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home with the Rev. Don C. Medoff, pastor of the Pulaski Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Pulaski Cemetery with full military honors. Contributions may be made to the Pulaski Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
