William E. Tyo, 66, of Banghall Road died Thursday at Oswego Hospital.
A native of Cornwall, Ontario, Mr. Tyo was raised in Massena and resided most of his life in the Parish area. He retired in 1988 as a crane operator after 37 years with Smith & Caffrey Steel of Liverpool.
Mr. Tyo was a member of Local 612, United Steelworkers of America. He also was a member of the Hastings Volunteer Fire Department and an associate member of the Hastings-Parish Post 8823, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, the former Barbara Murphy; a daughter, Debra Mason of Hastings; a stepdaughter, Lou Ann Peet of Central Square; a stepson, James Peet of Mexico; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Harter-Olmstead Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 7430 W. Main St.
