Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, April 16, 1964 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. DeShane Rites Friday - Mrs. Naomi R. DeShane, 55, wife of William H. DeShane, a lifelong resident of Richland, died Tuesday morning at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Watertown where she had been a patient four weeks. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at the Richland Methodist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Murphy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Friends may call today (Thursday) at the home at their convenience. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, William of Biloxi, Mississippi, Charles of Orwell and Terry of Richland; one brother, Elmer Riley of Richland; five sisters, Mrs. Archie (Ruby) Horton of Blackstone, Virginia, Mrs. Harold (Anstress) Pennock of Alexandria Bay, Mrs. Raymond (Dorothy) Nutting of Syracuse and Mrs. William Rena) Cobb and Mrs. Harold (Helen) Wing, both of Richland and six grandchildren. Mrs. DeShane was born at Fairfield, Virginia, on July 23, 1908, the daughter of Charles and Jessie Tolley Riley. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1925 and was married to Mr. DeShane on June 3, 1931, at Lowell, New York. She was employed as an assistant postal cleric at the Richland Post Office at the time of her death and was a member of the Richland Methodist Church, the W. S. C. S. and of the Auxiliary of the Richland Fire Company.
