Christine M. Bonetski, 80, of Finn Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Friday in the Inpatient Unit of Hospice Community Care, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, following a lengthy illness.
She was born in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late Walter and Constance Slovinski Kalczynski. She had formerly resided in Danbury, Conn. for six years and was a resident of Wilkes-Barre for the rest of her life.
Mrs. Bonetski worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry until her retirement and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains, Class of 1943. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre, and its Altar and Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph and Cyril Kalczynski; sister, Delores Henebry.
Surviving are her husband, Stanley M., with whom she had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 8, 2005; daughter, Ellen M. Bonetski, Palmyra; her best friend, Pearl Slovinski, Wilkes-Barre; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 from Mark V. Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark St., Plains, with a Funeral Mass at 10 in St. John the Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hudson. Friends may call Sunday, 5 to 8 p.m.
