- Newspaper Obituary - Monday, May 22, 1967 Syracuse Post Standard - Mr. Morgan Dies; Was Court Crier - Phoenix - Fred W. Morgan, 94, of 422 Lock St. died Sunday at Syracuse's St. Mary's Hospital - He was a retired court crier, formerly having been employed at Oswego County courthouse. He formerly had been a Phoenix freight agent, a farmer and a licensed real estate broker. He was president of Phoenix Rural Cemetery Association 22 years and former president of Phoenix Chamber of Commerce; a life and 50 year member of Phoenix Grange, and Oswego County Republican Pary comitteeman may years. He attended Phoenix Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ola Hess Morgan; a son, Burton Morgan of Hughesville, Pa.; a stepson, Clifford King of Baldwinsville, nine grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Phoenix Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at 919 Main St.
