Loretta L. Slovinski, 74, of East Thomas Street, Wilkes-Barre, died unexpectedly Wednesday in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, after being stricken ill at home.
Born in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Januszko Slovinski. She was a lifelong resident of Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1949. She worked for the RCA Plant in Mountain Top until her retirement. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre, its Altar and Rosary Society, the RCA Nipper Club, and the PAV, Plains.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Valerian, on March 24, 1952.
Surviving are a sister, Jean and her husband, Joseph (Chuck) Ornoski of Plains; a brother, Raymond and his wife, Pearl Slovinski of Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Mark V. Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark Street, Plains, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m.
