Robert E. Burdick, 84, of 31 Gerdon Drive, died Monday at his daughter's home in Richland.
Mr. Burdick retired in 1982 after 19 years with Schoeller Technical Papers, Pulaski. He had previously worked for 23 years at Ames Iron Works, Oswego.
Born Jan. 7, 1917, in Oswego, he was a son of Walter and Helen Parker Burdick.
He married Dorothy M. Vickery on July 4, 1940. They moved from Scriba to Richland in 1963.
He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pulaski, a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a charter member of the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Betty J. Warren, Richland; two sons, James E., Athens, Tenn., and Joseph R., Herkimer; two sisters, Viola Roach and Ethel Carey, both of Oswego, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A son, Army 1st Lt. Daniel J. Burdick, was killed in action Dec. 3, 1968, during the Vietnam War, and a daughter, Roberta Burdick, died March 27, 1952.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Oswego.
Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. today at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski.
