Joyce Marie Egan passed away, unexpectedly, on May 2, 2011. Joyce was born June 2, 1933 in Watertown, NY to Louis and Dorothy Whitmarsh Bufalini. She attended Watertown High School graduating in 1951. She married Paul Egan in 1965.
Joyce was the beloved mother of five children Michael Egan, Rome NY, Nadine Kelly, Morgantown WV, Mark Egan and wife Marion, Auburn NY, Eric Egan, Queens NY, and Matt Egan, Syracuse NY. She is also survived by two brothers; Louis (Buff) and Tina Bufalini of Savannah Georgia, and Vincent and Sophie Bufalini of Apopka Florida, and a dear family friend, Terry Egan of Rome NY.
Joyce leaves behind grandchildren Jaime Egan of Rome, NY, Kelly Egan, Pulaski NY, Kristoppher Egan, Cincinatti Ohio, Nic Egan, Cameron NC, Connor Kelly, Morgantown, WV and Leanne Birch, Syracuse NY. Joyce was known at "Gigi" to her several great grandchildren.
In her commitment to providing quality education to children across NY State, Joyce spent decades serving on boards of education. Joyce resided in Pulaski NY for 38 years before moving to Rome NY in 2006.
Joyce was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Rocco.
A funeral service will be at the Christ Our Light Church in Pulaski, NY at 11:00 on Saturday, May 21, 2011.
