Newspaper Obituary - April 14, 1966 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Mexico - Nelson John Tousant, 78, R. D. #1, the Scenic Highway, Mexico, died Sunday April 10 at his home after a long illness. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Gibbs Funeral Home, the Rev. Lullus Bell officiating. Interment was in the South Richland Cemetery. The son of the late George and Shara Tousant, he was born at Natural Bridge, New York, on August 17, 1887, and had resided in Evans Mills before moving to the Mexico area. He was a self-employed trucker in the area for the last 25 years. Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Inice Carpenter Tousant,
are six sons, Charles J. of Pulaski, George N. of Syracuse, William N. of Richland, Orvis J. of Mexico, Levis C. of Syracuse, and Paul E. of Pulaski; four daughters, Mrs. Adelbert Horning of Lawton, Oklahoma, Mrs. John Weed of Mexico, and Mrs. Richard Ward of Auburn. Also 25 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
