The funeral for William N. Tousant, 79, of 8333 Route 3, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Brian Snyder officiating.
Spring burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.
Mr. Tousant died Sunday at his home, where he was under the care of his family and Oswego County Hospice.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was employed by Fraser and Jones Co. in Syracuse prior to serving in the Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He was wounded while on military duty in Germany and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
He moved to Pulaski in 1955 and became a dairy farmer, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of Cable Trail Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8534, Lacona. He and his wife raised many foster children.
Born June 4, 1929, in Evans Mills, son of Nelson J. and Inice Carpenter Tousant, he attended town of LeRay School District 8 and later Mexico Academy. His family moved to Mexico in 1942.
He married Beverly J. Hilton on July 2, 1950, in the First Baptist Church parsonage, Sandy Creek.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons and their wives, William and Roberta, Pulaski, and Scott and Rose, Ghent; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandy Shaw, Hannibal, and Cara and John Daniels, Oswego; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorice Stewart, Lacona, Shirley Schneider, Mexico, and Helen and Richard Ward, Lacona; two brothers and their wives, Paul and Peggy, and Levi and Grace, all of Pulaski; five grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, John, George and Orvis, and two sisters, Nettie Tousant and Florence Forrest, died before him.
