SANDY POND, N.Y. - Daniel A. Archibee, 56, was a generous, loving, and compassionate husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend to all.
Born March 19, 1955, he grew up in Sandy Pond and enjoyed meeting new people, serving others, golfing, and automobile racing. Danny was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 747. He received the gift of a new heart in March of 2008 and spent the last three years enjoying time with the people and in the places he loved the most.
He passed suddenly on July 12, 2011. Cause is pending.
He is predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Dora Graham Archibee; brothers Bruce and Brian. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane, sons Justin (Natali) Archibee, Adam (Karen) Archibee; his brothers Ronald (SueAnn) Archibee of Sandy Creek, David (Penny) Archibee of Mexico; his sister Lydiann (Roger) McClure of Lakeland, Florida; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life took place on Sunday, July 17th from 1-6 pm at the Sandy Pond Sportsmens Club. A brief memorial took place at 1:30 pm, followed by a Chicken BBQ. As a recipient of a donated heart, Danny urged all he met to be an organ donor. In lieu of flowers, please consider signing up to be an organ donor at
