Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, July 28, 1994 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Edson Bennett, Ex-Conrail Foreman Dies - Edson N. Bennett, 74, of 7608 Richland Road, died Tuesday in the State University of New York Health Science Center, Syracuse. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Northern Oswego County Ambulance, Delano Street, Pulaski, or Oswego County Hospice, in care of H. Douglas Barclay Courthouse, Pulaski, New York 13142. Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a son, Richard "Rick," Pulaski; two brothers, Norman, Sydney, and Aaden, Amarillo, Texas; four sisters, Norma Jackson, Sydney, Beatrice Gibbs, Richland, Leatrice Saunders, Unadilla, and Lona Kitchen, Bainbridge, and several nieces and nephews. Born on September 14, 1919, in Pulaski, a son of Norman and Blanche Driggs Bennett, he graduated from Pulaski High School in 1937 and was a life resident of Pulaski. Mr. Bennett served in the Army from 1941 to 1945, and married Ruth I. Burdick on September 22, 1940. He was employed for 38 years by Conrail in Watertown, retiring as foreman in 1981. He was a member of Robert Edwards Post 358, American Legion, and Pulaski Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7289.
