Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, August 15, 1992 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Charles W. Pratt, Ex-Highway Worker Dies ¬Charles Wayne Pratt, 89, Springbrook Apartments, died at about 7:20 p.m. Thursday at his home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Pulaski Baptist Church with the Rev. Clay Berry officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 7385 Park St. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulaski Day Care Center. Mr. Pratt is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Elizabeth Pitzer, two sons, Jim Pratt, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and Doug Pratt of Sandy Creek; two daughters, Betty I. Gerdon, Hemet, California, and Gloria J. Young, Pompey; one brother, Leigh Pratt, Pulaski; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Born October 30, 1902 in the town of Richland, son of Charles A. and Mate Tryon Pratt. Mr. Pratt was a lifelong resident of Pulaski and attended Pulaski district schools. He owned and operated a dairy farm on Rainbow Shores Road for several years and then worked for the New York highway department from 1949 to 1966, when he retired. Mr. Pratt was a member and deacon of the Pulaski Baptist Church, a past master and 65-year member of the Pulaski Grange, a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and a former member of the Richland Volunteer Fire Department.
