- DEFERIET - Patricia A. Zehr, 60, of 36 Wilna Ave., died Thursday morning at Carthage Area Hospital, where she had been a patient for three days.
Mrs. Zehr was employed at the former Riley's Dairy Bar, West Carthage. She later was an assistant manager for Pepper Pan Convenience Store in Arkansas, and then was employed by Jefferson Rehabilitation Center, Watertown, until being injured in 2002.
Born March 7, 1948, in West Carthage, daughter of Edward and Gertrude Disotell Riley, she graduated in 1966 from Carthage Central School.
She married Sherman G. Zehr on Dec. 1, 1973, in Carthage. The couple moved to Arkansas in 1988 and returned to the north country in 1997. Mr. Zehr died June 10, 2005.
Surviving besides her mother, of West Carthage, are a daughter and her husband, Rebecca and Scott Hose, Carthage; two stepdaughters, Donna Kissane, Reston, Va., and Rita Rogers, Black River; two stepsons, Sherman Zehr Jr., Rochester, and Timothy Zehr, North Chili; a sister, Janet Balser, Pennsylvania; two brothers, James Riley and Randy Riley, both of Carthage, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A stepdaughter, Mary Pellam, died before her.
A graveside service will be later in the spring in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage. The body will be cremated.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
