[Note: Florence Ingersoll died July 16, 1891 in New Centerville, New York and is buried in Richland Cemetery at Richland, New York]
Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, September 17, 1935 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Veteran Dies at Home in Eastern Part of County - Illness Proves Fatal to Oscar Ingersoll, 89, of Sandy Creek - Sandy Creek, September 17 - Oscar Ingersoll, one of the six last Civil War veterans in the eastern part of Oswego County, died early Tuesday at his home here. He was 89 years old. John H. Hollis is now the last Civil War veteran in Sandy Creek. Mr. Ingersoll was born in the town of Albion December 10, 1845, son of the late Benjamin and Hallan Wolcott Ingersoll, pioneer settlers. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Union forces and served with distinction throughout the war. Returning, he became a farmer, settling in the town of Albion near Centerville, and later going to Boylston. He retired about 20 years ago and took up his residence here. Although he had been in poor health since last April, Mr. Ingersoll had been confined to his bed only since Saturday. Survivors are his wife, Alice Westcott Ingersoll, and one daughter, Mrs. Henry A. Eston, Worcester, Massachusetts. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but the Rev. T. T. Davies of the Congregational church will officiate and burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Pulaski.
