Anne M. Switzer, 75, of 40 Lake St., died Saturday at State University of New York Health Science Center, Syracuse.
Born July 6, 1921, in Rome, daughter of Amos and Loretta Shanley Murtha, she had lived in Pulaski since 1926. She graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1939 and attended Nazareth College, Rochester, for three years.
She married Merritt "Bud" Switzer on Aug. 29, 1942, at Fort Benning, Ga. The couple had owned the Switzer-Jenkins Insurance Agency since 1948.
Mrs. Switzer was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society, a member and former secretary of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, a member and secretary of the Pulaski Service Club, a member of the Pulaski Monday Historical Club and an organizing member of Snowbelt Community Center. A former Girl Scout leader, she was also a den mother for Cub Scout Troop 829.
Surviving besides her husband are seven sons, Douglas A., Walnut Creek, Calif., Gregory W., Sodus Point, Vincent J., Syracuse, Philip R. and Leslie F., both of Pulaski, Frederick J., Yorktown, Va., and Martin A., Fulton; two daughters, Patricia S. Clark, Pulaski, and Loretta J. Switzer, Apulia Station; a brother, Francis Murtha, Katonah; two sisters, Agnes King, Potsdam, and Roberta Anderson, North Syracuse, and 15 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Church with the Rev. John Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home.
