- ALBERTA MAY HOYT DIES IN POTSDAM AT AGE 53

Alberta May Hoyt, 53, of Back Hannawa Road, died Friday at her home. She had been ill with cancer.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. John P. Kennehen officiating. Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Garner Funeral Home.
Surviving are her husband, Keith E.; a son, Gary, Hannawa Falls; two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Brenda) French and Mrs. Bryan (Lori) Jenack, both of Potsdam; seven grandchildren; her mother, Dora B. Jerome, Potsdam; two brothers, Mervin and George Jerome, both of Potsdam, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Hilda) Keleher and Elizabeth Jerome, Potsdam.
Two brothers, Leland "Bill" Jerome, died in 1967, and Michael Jerome, died in 1990. A sister, Marion Haywood, also died in 1990.
Born May 18, 1941, in Potsdam, a daughter of Ernest "Mike" and Dora Price Jerome, she attended Congdon Campus School and Potsdam High School.
On June 27, 1959, she married Keith Hoyt at St. Mary's Church.
Mrs. Hoyt worked at the Big M and was a checker in the stock room at Ames Department Store for more than 25 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church.
