- MICHAEL JEROME, '79 FIREMAN OF YEAR, DIES

Michael J. Jerome, 43, 7 Walnut St., died at Canton-Potsdam Hospital Thursday night.
The funeral will be noon Monday at St. Mary's Church, with the Rev. Douglas Decker presiding. A spring burial will be held in Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam.
Calling hours will be Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon at Garner Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Potsdam Volunteer Fire Dept.
Surviving are his wife Pauline; two sons, Michael L. and Timothy, Potsdam; two daughters, Mrs. Isaac (Hope) Gilbert and Shannon, Potsdam, his mother, Mrs. Dora Jerome, Potsdam; two brothers, three sisters and nephews and nieces.
Born Sept. 23, 1947 in Potsdam, a son to Ernest F. and Dora Price Jerome, he graduated from Potsdam High School.
He married Pauline Woodard Sept. 28, 1968 at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam. He was employed for 22 years at EE and CC Green Lumber. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, a member of the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department, and the St. Lawrence County Fire. He was named Fireman of the Year in 1979.
