Wife of Adelbert Sylvanus Adsit (married February 25, 1904, divorced in 1942 in Florida.) [Note: Adelbert Adsit died April 4, 1947 in Camden, New York and is buried in Redfield Village Cemetery at Redfield, New York.]
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, September 25, 1947 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Former Resident Dies in Washington - Mrs. Gwendolyn Edwards Adsit, a former resident of this community, died on Saturday, September 20, at her residence, 2656 15th Street North West, Washington, D. C. She was the daughter of the late David and Mary Ferber Edwards, of Pulaski. She last lived here in 1903, although she had last visited her brother, Arch Edwards, formerly of Pulaski, from time to time. Mrs. Adsit is survived by two sons, Samuel David Adsit of Rome, and Emerson Edwards Adsit of Washington, D. C.; and by five daughters, Mrs. Richard Piper of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Reba Kessler of Andover, Mrs. Richard (Mildred) Rourke of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Esther Carr of Washington, D. C. and Mrs. Oscar (Evelyn) Fodder of Waterford. She is also survived by a brother, Arch Edwards, now of Fredonia, and by several grandchildren. Services were held at the S. H. Hines Company funeral home, Washington, D. C., at 10 a.m. Monday, September 22. Interment was at the Pulaski cemetery, September 23rd, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Hoag officiating at the gravesite rites.
