Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday May 1, 1929 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - William H. Andrews, 79 - The death of William H. Andrews occurred at his home in North Street last Wednesday afternoon following a period of nearly two years of ill health. For a great many years Mr. Andrews was one of the most familiar figures about town. He followed the career as driver of the village bus, to and from the trains, for years until the advent of the automobile which regulated the old horse drawn vehicles to the discard. As driver of the bus he also had the contract for the transportation of the mail to and from the trains. In this capacity and that of his varied activities in local organizations of which he was a member for so many years, he became very well known. He was born in this town September 22, 1849. As a young man he drove the longer stage routes such as from this village to Oswego. This he continued until such routes were abandoned then entering the business of local busman he continued that until he retired from active work. He was a member of Pulaski Lodge I. O. O. F. and a retired member of Ringgold Fire Company, also a member of the Methodist Church of this village. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Florence Harte, a granddaughter, Mrs. Frank Brown, of Altmar and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was held from the home Saturday afternoon with the officers of Pulaski Lodge I. O. O. F. and Rev. John W. Warren, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Pulaski cemetery. Friends and relatives from out of town attending the funeral were: Mrs. John Andrews and Miss Edna Andrews of Syracuse; Mrs. W. H. Drake, Maple View; Mrs. Walter McDonald, Jamesville; Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Buell, Syracuse and Mrs. Frank Turner, Altmar.
