Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, June 1, 1988 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Evelyn L. Anson, Altmar, Dies at Age of 78 - Evelyn L. Anson, 78, Altmar, former employee of the General Electric Company, Syracuse, and of Walker's Dry Cleaners, Pulaski, died Tuesday morning at Harwood Nursing Home, Oswego, after a long illness. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with Rev. Earl M. Smith, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, Pulaski, officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Surviving are a son, Robert R., Pennellville; a daughter, Betty Cook, Fulton; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard Benway, and a sister, Mrs. Nettie Holland, both of Pulaski. Born in the Town of Albion on November 2, 1909, a daughter of Alfred and Maud Johnson Benway, she attended schools in the Town of Albion. She married Elmer Anson May 28, 1927, at Pulaski. Mrs. Anson had been employed at General Electric in Syracuse and also at Walker's Dry Cleaners of Pulaski for several years. Mr. Anson worked for the Regal Paper Company and later for Douglaston Manor Farms, until his retirement in 1959. The couple moved to Pennellville in 1967. Mr. Anson died in January 1969, at age 72.
