    • Lyman Wright - January 18, 1810 - March 8, 1878. Son of Elijah and Elizabeth Dockstader Wright. Husband of Olive Emmons Wright. Married 1830.

Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, March 21, 1878 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died in Albion, Oswego county, New York, March 8th, 1878, Lyman Wright, aged 68 years. He was born January 18th, 1810. His father, Elijah Wright, was one of the old settlers of this town, and here, or in the near vicinity, his son resided for the greater portion of his life. In 1830 he was united in marriage with Miss Olive Emmons, of Smithville, and ten children blessed their union, all of whom are now living. During the revival of 1831, we believe Mr. Wright publicly acknowledged his obligations and allegiance to his God and united with the M. E. church of which for many years he was the chorister. Throughout his early manhood and the prime of his life he took an active and quite prominent position in the political questions of the day, in which he kept himself well informed, and having a good command of language participated largely in the local discussions, bringing himself somewhat prominently into notice, so that in 1850 he was the candidate of the Old Whig party for sheriff of this county. Some fifteen years since he removed from this vicinity to Albion, where he had purchased a farm and where he resided during the remainder of his life. For several years he has suffered greatly from rheumatic attacks and kidney diseases, and about two years ago he was prostrated by a stroke of paralysis from which his naturally strong constitution gradually gave way and the recurrence of another stroke a few days ago brought his life to a close Friday, March 8th, 1878. He was a brother-in-law of W. H. Wheeler and father of Orlando Wright of this village. - Adams Journal.
