      Jay E. Turner, 74, of 7494 Rome Road, died Tuesday at his home.

      Mr. Turner had owned and operated Jay's Glad Haven Flower Shop for the past 40 years. He lived in Altmar before moving to Pulaski in 1961.

      Born July 16, 1924, in Camden, son of James G. and Gladys S. Morrison Turner, he graduated in 1942 from Altmar High School and earned a degree in horticulture and floral design from Morrisville Agricultural and Technical Institute in 1949.

      He was a member of Altmar Riverside United Methodist Church, the Pulaski Service Club and the Royal Order of Jesters Court 142, Watertown. He was past master of Pulaski Masonic Lodge 415 and past potentate of Media Temple Shiners, Watertown, and Media Motor Patrol.

      Mr. Turner was also a member and past president of the Oswego County Shrine Club, a member and past patron of Order of the Eastern Star 159, and past district grand lecturer of the Oswego District of the Order of the Eastern Star.

      Surviving are a sister, Betty E. Dawley, Pulaski; a half brother, Ernest L., North Syracuse, and several nieces and nephews.

      The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar.

      Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the Order of the Eastern Star and the Masons will hold services at 8:15 and 8:30 p.m., respectively.
