    • CORA B. WILLS

Cora B. Wills who died at her home in Lacona last Thursday, April 10, 1930, was born in 1866 in Boylston and was the only daughter of the late Fred. W. Slater and Abbie Westcott. She attended school in Boylston.

November 1, 1883 she was united in marriage to William L. Wils and the most of their married life was spent on a farm outside the village of Lacona, the last few years of their life being passed at their home in this community. Mr. Wills passed away in 1925 after suffering several years.

Mrs. Wills has been in failing health for the past five years due to heart trouble which caused her death April 10.

Besides a wide circle of friends she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Helen W. Campbell, and infant grandson, Donald Robert Campbell, who was born twenty-four hours before her death.

Mrs. Wills as a member of the Mistletoe Rebekah Lodge. Hers was an unusually beautiful character, loving, kind and faithful and always ready to serve when needed. She was a good neighbor and was loved by all for her lifelong devotion to her family and to those about her who were in sickness or in trouble.

The 31st chapter of Proverbs seems particularly, to describe her. "Who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above rubies... The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of h er life...She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy... She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all."

Her funeral was held April 13 at her home and was largely attended. Rev. T.T. Davies was the officiating clergyman and burial was made in the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Among those from out of town who attended were Mr. and Mrs. John Graham, Lycoming; Mr. and Mrs. John Westcott, Mrs. LeAnna Hamer, North Syracuse; Mr. and Mrs. M.M. Duffy, Ithaca; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ladd, Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Wilcox, Scriba; Mrs. George Donavan, Oswego; Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Rouse, Rochester; Mr. and Mrs. H.B.
