- Newspaper Obituary - August 22, 1998 Erie Times News - Pennsylvania - CHARLES G. SPRAKE - Retired from Erie Fire Department - UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas _ Charles G. Sprake, 69, of 4802 Sorrento St., San Antonio, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998, at his home. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Jan. 12, 1929, son of the late William and Hazel Klinetob Sprake. He worked for the Erie Fire Department, retiring in 1980 after 22 years of service. After moving to San Antonio, he worked for the Valero Co., Big Lots and Arias & Kezar. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed ham radio and woodworking in his spare time. He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Sprake Jr. and Donald and Robert Sprake. He is survived by his wife, Lucretia; two daughters, Karen English of Erie and Charmaine Rohan of Harborcreek; a son, Charles Sprake Jr. of Erie; four stepchildren; and four grandchildren. Friends may call at the Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk, in Universal City Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. The rosayr will be prayed at 7 p.m. A Mass will be held at St. Helena's Catholic Church Monday at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Albert Trevino will officiate. Burial with military honors will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sisters Care of San Antonio, P.O.
