    • Newspaper Obituary - May 13, 2009 Erie Times News - Pennsylvania - Mary Lou Kinney Sprake - Mary Lou Kinney Sprake Loving Mother and Grandmother Mary Lou Sprake, formerly of West 40th. St., passed away peacefully on May 12, 2009. She was born in Erie on July 29, 1930, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Margaret R. Leibig Kinney. She was a 1948 Graduate of Academy High School. She had worked at Erie Resistor Co., Erie Optical Co., and had retired from her work as a Lab Technician at American Sterilizer Co. in 1987. She was an avid reader and enjoyed history and traveling. She was proud of her Irish Heritage and was a member of the Red Hat Society. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother William Kinney, and a sister, Shirley Avril. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Malone and her husband John of Erie; two granddaughters, Christine Smerker and her husband Randall of Bethesda, Md., and Stephanie Pennock and her husband Eric of Indianapolis, Ind; a great grandson, Dean Pennock; several nieces also survive. Friends may call at the Brugger Home for Funerals LLP, 1595 West 38th St. on Thursday from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend services there on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Trinity Cemetery.
