- Newspaper Obituary - Monday, September 22, 1919 The Wilkes-Barre Record - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania - Mrs. E. G. Cotton Dies Suddenly - Within nine hours after she had attended the funeral of her sister-in-law on the West Side, Mrs. Edmund G. Cotton, aged 55, died last evening at 9:40 o'clock at her home, 186 South Grant street, city, of apoplexy. Upon her return from the funeral she had complained of feeling ill and Dr. J. B. Tobias was summoned. She is survived by her husband, Edmund G. Cotton, who is employed as an engineer by the D. & H. Railroad Company. Three children, Edna, at home; Alma, a student at State College, and Elwood, who is employed by the government at Norfolk, Va., survive.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, September 25, 1919 Wilkes-Barret Times Leader - Mrs. E. G. Cotton Buried - Mrs. E. G. Cotton was laid to rest in Hollenbeck cemetery yesterday afternoon. The funeral was held from her late home, 136 South Grant street where services were conducted by Rev. John B. Craven, pastor of Grant street Presbyterian Church. Several selections were rendered by a quarted composed of James Birmingham, Mr. Williams, Walter R. Johns and Ford Jones. There was a profusion of floral tributes.
