DOHMAN, 77, OF WILKES-BARRE, DIED SUNDAY AT HIS HOME. - Joseph Dohman September 28, 1997 Joseph L. Dohman, 77, of Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at his homeBorn in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John and Helen Kraft Dohman. He graduated from St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre, in 1939. He served with the U.S. Army in Italy during World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed as an auto mechanic by McCarthy Tires for more than 30 years. He was a Cub Scout master for St. Nicholas Church Cub Scout Pack 43 and Scout master of Troop 43, Wilkes-Barre, for more than 43 years. He earned the Silver Beaver Award for his dedication and service to Scouting. He also received the St. George Award and Order of the Arrow. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre, its Holy Name Society, and served as an adult altar server and usher. He was preceded in death by his son, John, in 1955, and a brother, Francis. He and his wife, the former Dolores Mattrick, celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on September 15, 1997. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Joseph, Dupont; Robert, Camp Hill; Thomas, Schwenksville; daughters Anne Pekata, Mountaintop; Mary Kate, at home; eight grandchildren; brothers John, Lewisburg; William, Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Nicholas Church, 226 S.
