- Online Obituray - Dolores P. Dohman, 91, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Friday afternoon, Feb. 19, 2016, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre on St. Patrick's Day 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and Genevieve (Kennedy) Mattick. Dolores attended Columbia Avenue School, Miners Mills, and was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1942. She was employed as a seamstress in the garment industry, working in several dress factories in the city, retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a very active parishioner and worked every summer bazaar at the potato pancake booth, only missing three bazaars in its history. Most recently, she was a devoted volunteer with St. Nicholas Church CCD program. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Dohman, on Sept. 28, 1997; infant son, John, in 1955; sisters, Marie Corcoran, Genevieve McGilloway, Gertrude Sheridan and Regina Gavin. Surviving are her children, Joseph Dohman and his wife, Donna, Howard; Robert Dohman and his wife, Cheryl, Camp Hill; Thomas Dohman Schwenksville; Anne Pekata and her husband, Arthur, New Columbia; and Mary Kate Dohman and her companion, Gene Czarniak, Wilkes-Barre; daughter-in-law, Jayne Dohman, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Linnette Dohman and her companion, Ralph Baitsholtz, Joseph Dohman and fiancée Nichole, Robert Dohman, Natalie Dohman, Christopher Dohman and his wife, Brandis, Thomas Dohman, James Hughes and his fiancée, Suzanne Chase, and Elizabeth Dohman; great-granddaughter, Brielle Dohman; sister, Theresa Egan, several nieces and nephews, and very good neighbors and friends. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
