    • Newspaper Obituary - December 13, 2002 Wilkes-Barre Times Leader - ELLEN SUSAN CORCORAN - Ellen Susan Corcoran, lifelong resident of Plains Township, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, surrounded by her family. She was 50 years old. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh W. and Marie G. (Mattick) Corcoran. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Marie and John Spagnuolo, Plains Township; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hugh and Dorothy, Jenkins Township; Michael and Roberta, Carverton; Raymond and Joyce, Linglestown; and John and Marilyn, with whom she resided. Ellen is also survived by 13 nieces and 13 great-nieces and nephews. Ellen attended Maffett Street School, Plains Township, and was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains Township. Considered the family trivia expert, Ellen enjoyed a love of music, dancing, reading, TV and movies. One of her proudest moments was receiving a personal letter from her favorite actor, Ernest Borgnine. Ellen traveled extensively with her mother, who was the most cherished person in her life. She especially enjoyed their vacations to Hawaii, Disney World, Niagara Falls and their frequent bus excursions to New York City, Philadelphia and Atlantic City. One of the Lord's special persons, she was a lifelong source of unselfish love and inspiration to family and friends, giving so much more than she received. Ellen offered the blessing and toast at every family gathering. Although she will be sorely missed, we are comforted that Ellen now enjoys a new, abundant, eternal life with the Lord. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Plains Township. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Friends are invited to attend the church services. Calling hours will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, c/o 25 Oak St., Hudson, Pa., 18705.
