- Emma Anderson 1892-1989
Emma Alvira Anderson, 97, passed away at her home in Merrifield, Minnesota on Sunday, September 10, 1989. Mrs. Anderson was born August 10, 1892, at Hayfield, Minnesota to parents John and Nellie Baumann. She moved to Bagley at the age of nine with her family and resided in Holst Township, Clearwater County and Copley Township most of her life. In 1912 she was united in marriage to George P. Anderson. They raised a family of nine children and farmed in Copley Township. George passed away in 1974. emma was baptized and confirmed at immanuel Lutheran Church and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Bagley.
Emma is survived by six daughters Pearl (Mrs. George) Osgood of Long Lake, Rudy (Mrs. Morgan) Oien of Bagley, Florence (Mrs. Vern) Haugenstad of St. Paul, Ruth (Mrs. Gordon) Gubrud of Eden Prairie, Delpha (Mrs. Kenneth) Close of White Bear Lake, Orphie (Mrs. Carl) Shellum of Merrifiel; twenty seven grandchildren and forty eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Halvorson and Mabel (Mrs. Oliver) Holman of Bagley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Goldie Friborg; two sons Wallace and Lionel and a grandson Gary.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 1989, at 2 p.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church of Bagley. Rev. Lyle Twite will officiate and burial will be in the Bagley City Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home of Bagley.
Casket bearers will be Kenneth Close, Gordon Gubrud, Vernon Haugenstad, Morgan Oien, George Osgood, and Carl Shellum.
