Obituary of Jean Mathison
Jean J. Mathison, age 76, resident of Lacona, NY passed away Saturday, June 30th, following a lengthy battle with COPD. Jean was born on November 24, 1941, the daughter of Albert and Janet Bentley Johnson. She graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School in 1959. Jean spent many years as Secretary to the Principal at Pulaski High School before being employed by Stone & Webster, and eventually retiring from her position as an Executive Assistant at Motorola in Phoenix, AZ.
Jean is survived by her husband of 34 years, who she married December 30, 1983, Henry “Chris” Mathison; three children, Jeffrey D. Nash of Phoenix, AZ, Jennifer (Steven) Cole, of Pulaski, NY, Kristian A. Mathison of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren, John C. “JC” King, Jeffrey N. King, and Andrew W. Ball; two sisters, Carol (Robert) Dickson of Akron, NY, Gail Johnson of Lacona, NY, and brother Albert R. (Debi) Johnson of Pulaski, NY, and several nieces and nephews, and her mother in-law Marilyn Mathison of Pulaski, Jean was predeceased by a previous husband, John M. “Jack” Nash who died in 1982.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 5th at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski. No funeral service will be held. Everyone is invited to a celebration of life reception at 3:30 p.m. immediately following calling hours at The Elms Golf Course.
